Strips Markdown

Bold asterisks, ## headings, bullet markers, [links](…) and code fences that show up literally when pasted into a doc or a form.

Removes hidden characters

Zero-width spaces, joiners, non-breaking spaces and variation selectors that survive copy-paste and can fingerprint the source.

Drops chatbot lines

“Sure! Here's a polished version:” and “Let me know if you need anything else” are gone, along with em dashes and ellipses.

What comes out of a chatbot besides the words

Copy a reply out of ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and you get more than prose. Headings arrive as pound signs, emphasis as double asterisks, lists as dashes, and the whole thing may open with “Certainly!” and close with an offer to help further. Depending on where you paste, you may also carry across zero-width characters that were never visible.

This cleaner removes all of it in one pass and shows you a count of what it changed, so a paragraph that looked finished in the chat window is actually finished when it lands in your document, form or CMS.

How to clean ChatGPT text for a document or form

Paste the text, leave the defaults on, and click Clean text. The default replaces dashes with commas, strips Markdown, removes hidden characters, drops chatbot lines, replaces ellipses and tidies whitespace. Open the options to straighten curly quotes (useful for code and some CMS fields) or remove emoji.

The report underneath is the part most cleaners skip. It scores the cleaned text on the habits that still read as AI (vocabulary, sentence rhythm, no contractions) and offers two next steps: a real AI-detector scan, and a rewrite with the humanizer.
